GOTTA GET TO BETHEL ISLAND!
FREE
AIR SHOW - AUGUST 24, 2008
The Area’s
Greatest Aviation Celebration starts
at 12:00 Noon
Just one day of celebration takes a whole
year of preparation, and those preparations
are underway for the Great Bethel Island
Air Show. Bethel Island's 2nd annual
Air Show can be viewed along the "Margarita
Mile" on
the East side of Bethel Island over Franks
Tract on August 24, 2008 starting at Noon.
- This spectacular event
starts at Noon with
a flyby by a U.S.
Air Force C-5 Galaxy, followed
by the Patriot
Jet Team.
In addition is the U.S.
Coast Guard Air Rescue Demo Team.
Also appearing is Tim
Decker with his Pitts
S-2B and Ellsworth
Getchell with his Hawker
Sea Fury. The
owner of the Patriot
Jet Team and Air
Boss, Randy Howell, will be coordinating
air show traffic and arriving by a twin
engine amphibious Widgeon that
will be anchored at the show center on
Franks Tract.
- This Air show is FREE. There
is plenty of free parking on the island
for families and their guests, as well
as access to camping in RV Parks and
Marinas along Franks Tract, which are
adjacent to the flight line.
- This year several types
of aircraft will migrate to the Bethel
Island area to participate in the Show.
These Aviators will fly their aircraft
in an FAA approved, restricted area over
Franks Tract. The pilots and flight teams
come to entertain the community with
their flying skills.
- In 2006, this Air show
began with a flight demonstration by
the Patriot
Jet Team, the only private jet
team in America. This year's event will
be on a larger scale which will include
several other acts of various types.
- "What makes this
event unique is that we foresee it as
one Delta and our Island’s major
events" said Craig Lundborg. If
you're asked to explain what the Great
Bethel Island Air show is, there's only
one good answer - "you've
gotta be there!"
THE GREAT BETHEL ISLAND
AIR SHOW will likely
become The Delta's Greatest Event. For

affair and its programs, call 925-684-9283.
The Air Show will also be simulcast
on FM 88.7 radio frequency.
